Caring for your floor

Luxury vinyl flooring

Caring for your Luxury vinyl floor is a breeze when you take the following steps:

  • Sweep or vacuum as often as is needed to remove loose dirt.
  • Wash the floor with a non-abrasive, PH neutral cleansers. 
  • We recommend using Bona floor cleaner with a microfiber mop or a solution of ammonia and water (4 parts water to 1 part ammonia).
  • When damp mopping, use warm water & don’t flood the floor.


Do not use steam mops, soap-based detergents, vinegar, oil soaps, “mop-and-shine” products, abrasive cleansers or compounds, floor wax, vacuum with rotating beater bar or harsh buffing pads.

Never push, pull or drag heavy furniture or furnishings across the floor. Always lift & carry the items. Use felt protective pads under furniture.  Remove scuffs and excessive soil by carefully rubbing with a recommended solution and a soft absorbent cloth. Never use highly abrasive tools or solutions. Never use an orbital buffing machine.


The following items must be cleaned promptly as they can permanently discolor the flooring: ink, iodine, mercurochrome, betadine, dyes, asphalt, tar, grease, baking grease, cooking oils, and nail polish.

Because it’s solution-dyed, the color goes all the way through the fiber, like the color in a carrot, meaning the color won’t fade, wear off, or stain. When maintained properly your DreamWeaver carpet will remain looking new and beautiful for much longer.


Caring for 100% PureColor® polyester carpet.

  •  Always have clean walk-off mats at all entrances to capture outside soil before it’s tracked inside.
  •  Vacuum regularly with a Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval vacuum cleaner. 
  • Have your carpet professionally cleaned using hot water extraction every 12-18 months to remove soil and residues and prolong the life of your carpet.
  •  Always attend to accidents and spills immediately by blotting the spill with a damp, white absorbent towel followed by blotting with a 50/50 solution of water and bleach or a solution of 1 tsp. clear liquid dishwashing detergent to one quart of water.
